Richard completed his undergraduate BSc Physiotherapy degree at the University of the Free State in South Africa in 2013. He then went on to work in a government hospital in a rural area in the Free State province in South Africa. There Richard was exposed to several spheres of physiotherapy including and not limited to MSK, neurology, paediatrics, orthopaedics and medical/respiratory.
Richard’s love for the physiotherapy profession as a whole is vast and he has a keen interest in MSK conditions which began during his undergraduate studies and a dissertation in the MSK field.
Richard says “I am immensely interested in, and passionate about manual/hands on treatment, as well as integrating different modalities of treatment for the overall benefit of the patient. I love sport and exercise, thus I naturally enjoy working with (teams/athletes and/or) sport related injuries and sport specific injury rehabilitation.
Outside of physiotherapy I enjoy watching and partaking in team sports. Having played a wide variety of sports growing up I excelled in two sports namely: field hockey and football. I was privileged enough to represent my province at under 18 and under 21 level in field hockey as well as playing in an amateur football league in South Africa”.
Great physio who works in Balham.
