What does a SINOGEL injection do?

SINOGEL® is a proven treatment for osteoarthritis and similar degenerative conditions of large joints such as the hips and knees. In osteoarthritis, the synovial fluid which cushions the bones where they meet at joints tends to be lost or becomes too thin, which leads to pain and stiffness. The active ingredients of SINOGEL are hyaluronic acid and sodium chondroitin, in highly pure, easily tolerated forms. Both these substances are found naturally in the joints, where they keep the synovial fluid viscous. Injected directly into the joint, SINOGEL restores the normal viscosity of the synovial fluid, essential for lubricating and cushioning joints. This can help ease pain and restore mobility.

Just to be clear, and in simple terms, SINOGEL is a lubricant and helps the cartilage to absorb water, keeping it healthy.

SINOGEL uses patented innovative technology to bond the active ingredients together, so they can get to work on supporting the joint. SINOGEL is well tolerated and can be used at the same time as other medications you may be taking. Side effects tend to be rare, and minimal, but can include some temporary localised pain and swelling at the injection site. Most patients find the injection very easy to tolerate, but like a vaccine in the arm, it can feel a little tender for 24 hours. Most people do not get pain though.

The ingredients are carefully produced to the highest standards of purity and contain no animal-derived ingredients. Our qualified, experienced practitioners will consult with you first to ensure that this treatment is suited to you and answer any questions you might have.

The benefits and safety of SINOGEL have been proven by various scientific studies, where it was found to significantly reduce pain, restore mobility and quality of life for at least six months after the injection. To read a summary of the studies, click here.
