Sports Injuries

Sports Injuries will affect nearly every sports person at some stage. For example, landing awkwardly or twisting a joint in a bad tackle is just a couple of ways an injury can occur. Nothing frustrates an athlete more than not being able to perform.

We have a wealth of experience in treating sports injuries. Our team has worked with many professionals at national level and has the expertise to treat and rehabilitate from the acute injury phase through to the end stage and back to full function.

Surrey Physio is the place to go for any sports injury. Why is that? Because we have worked with the UK’s top athletes to rehabilitate them back to health. We regularly receive referrals from sports coaches from many sports including running clubs, athletics, sprint groups, and weightlifting coaches.

Here are some exercises that will strengthen your body:

Exercise 1 - Swiss Ball Press-up Hold Medium

Gently roll onto the ball placing your knees on the ball. Support yourself with both palms flat on the ground, and hold this position. Keep your body straight, tuck your bottom under and keep your back flat. To make the exercise easier, move the ball towards your pelvis. To make the exercise harder, move the ball towards your feet. This is a core strengthening exercise, but also works many muscles throughout the body. Hold this position for 30 seconds and repeat three times.

Exercise 2 - Forward Ball Roll Basic

Kneeling down, with your elbows resting on a Swiss ball, roll the ball forwards by straightening your arms. Maintain good posture. This is a core strengthening exercise, but also works many muscles throughout the body. Hold this position for 30 seconds and repeat three times.
