Everest Summit – Day 24
EBC
Woke up early several times, I guess around 4am, then 5am, then 6am and finally 8am. My tummy was loose and I had to rush to the "toilet" – a bucket with a toilet seat on it, in a small tent. Felt better for emptying. I went back to my tent and snoozed until breakfast. Same team members are still coughing and spluttering so I ate my breakfast outside on my own.
After breakfast we flew the drone and I did a couple of short videos.
In the afternoon I lay in my sleeping bag because it was so cold (-10) and I still had a headache (2 ibuprofen sorted it).
Geljen update: I'd managed to sort out Geljen Sherpa flying back out to EBC. He was meant to fly yesterday but no flights could get into Lukla so he went to fly today but had a funny turn at the airport, became dizzy and is back in hospital getting checked up. That's it for him now for this season :(
Up at 2am and at 3am tomorrow we start rotations which means go to camp 1, camp 2, touch camp 3 and back to camp 2 then back to EBC. I am on a different programme to the others in the team who are doing a 10 day rotation. I may do 5-6 days. That means no internet. But pls track me on the link… speak to u in 5-6 days…
Ps. snow and very cold weather forecast up Everest :(
